Survival Chic Social Impact

At Survival Chic (SC), we have a soft spot for those brave (and crazy!) enough to take the entrepreneurial plunge. That’s why we support entrepreneurs of all ages, around the world, in making their dreams a reality.

SC wins Corporate Social Impact award

SC received a Certificate of Recognition for Corporate & Societal Excellence for seeral . years running from The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham Singapore), thanks to our longstanding Social Impact Program.

Kiva – Loans that change lives

Kiva is not a regular charity, but an innovative microfinance organization that connects willing lenders and motivated entrepreneurs, promoting opportunity, hope, generosity, dignity, and accountability. Kiva has already generated over 130 million in loans from individuals and companies like SC.

Since the SC launch in 2010, for every SC Membership bought, SC allocates $10 to a business project in a developing country, via Kiva. This empowers budding entrepreneurs like Rosela Berdon, a mother of 3 who is using the loan to purchase additional products for her general store in Misom in the Philippines. Junior Achievement – Empowering future entrepreneurs

The SC Directors also actively participate in mentoring for Junior Achievement (JA), dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

JA prepares people for the real world by showing them how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. 202,000 classroom volunteers act as mentors and teachers, sharing their experiences and empowering students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world.

Action Cambodge Handicap – Irresistible products

Action Cambodge Handicap (ACH) was founded in 2011 in response to a need for job opportunities and a loving home for young adult Cambodians with mental disability. To create a skill set and a livelihood for these young adults, in 2012 ACH launched the production of homemade, 100% natural jams, syrups, and biscuits under the brand l’Irresistible.

To increase impact and sales, the ACH team contacted SC to create a more modern and attractive branding identity including new visuals, packaging, & marketing materials. The SC team donated time and energy to this worthwhile project over several months, and is excited to be a part of the growing success of these unique products, homemade with love.

The SC Team also volunteers for UN Women, donates regularly to various Charity events, and promotes select Charity & non-profit Events through our SC Newsletter and Facebook. We welcome any comments or suggestions from you, our Members, regarding the SC CSR program, which has been an important part of the SC philosophy since Day 1.

SC also adopted the ‘paperless office’ initiative in 2011, and practices eco-friendly energy policies.
